The Dartmoor Sheep Breeders Association

The Association has around 180 members with flocks spread far and wide across the UK. The governing body is the Council, which is made up of members elected bi-annually.

The Council meet at least four times a year and keeps the wheels of the Association moving freely.

The AGM for the Greyface Dartmoor Sheep Breeders Association is held in October.

Judges and Inspectors

For shows which offer prizes from the DSBA, the judge must be one from the list of approved judges. Official GFD judges have carried out a training period of at least three years, learning from judges in the show ring, being able to judge sheep with a heavy fleece in May and June as well as those with less fleece in August and September.

Inspectors also have to undergo the same minimum 3 year training period, this is also combined with a personal flock inspection.
